چکیده
Aim: To evaluate the outcome of single versus four port laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Methods: This randomized control trial was conducted from 1 st April 2015 to 30 th September 2015 in the Department of Surgery, Bolan Medical Complex Hospital Quetta. A total of 100 cases (50 in each group) were enrolled in the study with aged between 20 and 70 years and both sexes undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Results: The males were 68% in Group A and 60% in Group B while females in Group A were 32% and 40% in Group B with mean 55.43±5.16 years. Comparison of frequency of recurrence of chronic subdural hematoma in both groups was done which shows 8(32%) in Group-A and 3(12%) in Group-B which shows the statistically significant (≤0.05). Conclusion: There is significantly less post-operative pain in patients undergoing single port laparoscopic cholecystectomy when compared with four port laparoscopic cholecystectomy while mean operative time was significantly lower in four port laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

متن کاملLaparoscopic Cholecystectomy; closure versus non-closure of the fascial sheath opening of the sub-umbilical port site “10 mm”.
Background: Laparoscopic Surgery (LS) may be associated with many port site complications such as hernia, bleeding, infection, subcutaneous emphysema and ugly scars. Some of these complications are serious such as obstructed port site hernia . Rate of these complications is low depending on size and site of the port incision, type of the trocar that it is used, the condition of the patient a...
متن کاملThe comparison of single incision laparoscopic cholecystectomy and three port laparoscopic cholecystectomy: prospective randomized study
PURPOSE Laparoscopic techniques have allowed surgeons to perform complicated intra-abdominal surgery with minimal trauma. Single incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS) was developed with the aim of reducing the invasiveness of conventional laparoscopy. In this study we aimed to compare results of SILS cholecystectomy and three port conventional laparoscopic (TPCL) cholecystectomy prospectively. ...
متن کاملHybrid Single-Port Cholecystectomy Vs Four-Port Cholecystectomy in Children
BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES Evidence is increasing that single-port or single-incision laparoscopic cholecystectomy is a safe and feasible alternative for cholecystectomy in children. In this study, we sought to compare the single-port hybrid technique, which we originally reported in 2012, with the conventional 4-port approach, in regards of complications, outcome, operative time and cost. MET...
